The whole lot is just a load of old rubbish, recycled at that! Another government way of trying to make people feel equal – well sorry but unless you have done the courses and they must be genuinely equated to university standards these so called degrees are just another placebo or a sop. We have a young family friend who spent three years doing hollistic healing and massage at university, has debts of over eleven thousand pounds and who can only get a job in a salon paying the national minimum wage. She bleats ‘ i’ve got a degree’! What a load of tosh! Girls her age twenty years ago went to the local polytechnic for two/three years, got a qualification in the same sort of thing and after five years were running their own businesses with thousands in the bank and no debt!

o dear, it does worry me, I wonder whether my employers will actually see what I have a degree in instead of the fact I simply have a degree (ok I don't yet, I will in 3yrs time)!

Degrees only show that your parents had enough money to send you to university.

Look at Bush.

His daddy got him into and through Yale and Harvard.

He has a "degree" in Business, but his policies have led America into 2 recessions and the worst is yet to come.

I fear this is the start of dumning down on degrees.Tesco and MacDonalds,now frigging beds.Another thing that gets my goat is graduation ceremonies in full regalia for gaining diplomas and completing nursery school.BEHAVE!!!The world’s gone mad.

Well it certainly doesn’t fit into the "liberal arts" concept. It’s more of a trade school, wouldn’t you say?
I sure hope the skills learned would help in selling other merchandise besides beds. What if somebody wants to switch to a different kind of furniture, can he do it?

A simple waiver would do instead. The problem is when people like me have existing back conditions, coupled with the fact that I dont seek medical advice for my back, shop for a new bed. If I go to purchase a mattress and some sales vulture sells me a bed that he "guarantees" it will make my back feel better, but my new found chiropractor tells me that my new expensive bed has caused further back problems and will continue to do so. Now What? Spend a lot more money on a new bed, or find some Lawyer jerk to take the injury case for free. I dont believe in regulation to this extent, but a simple waiver to tell the consumer that the bed salesperson is not an expert on medical conditions and before purchasing a new bed, one should consult a doctor. Even though this should all be more than self-explanatory to the consumer.
