Are Dog Beds Necessary?

If you get your dog used to sleeping in one spot he’s less likely to sleep on the floor or other hard surfaces which can cause arthritis and calluses in later years. Starting out correctly can help keep your dog fit and healthy for all of his life. So now that we have established that a dog bed is essential, what type do you get and how do you pick the best bed?

What to Consider in a Dog Bed

Have you ever considered you dog’s specific needs for comfortable rest? Does your dog sprawl and stretch out completely? Or does he avoid the bed because he needs to cool off? Take his habits and needs into consideration when buying a dog bed. Yor pet will thank you for it!

Some Of The Benefits of a Dog Bed

The type of dog bed you choose depends on your canine and his preferences. Orthopedic beds are often a good choice for a senior dog as they are designed with special high-density foam for additional comfort and cushion for your hound’s aching bones and joints.

Beds with sides are great for dogs that like to hang their head over the edge. You can also add pillows to keep your pooch comfey. Picking the right dog bed can also help with allergy and clean up relief. It provides you with a main area where the majority of the shedding and/or dander is contained and if you select a good machine washable bed, just toss it in the washing machine!

Some other Dog Bed Considerations

It is important for an older dog to have a comfortable rest area and there are dog beds that are specfically designed with older dogs in mind. A good dog bed is essential for a senior hound as they spend a good portion of the day at rest. They even make orthopedic pooch beds now to help address this issue. Remember that an achy body can mean a cranky pet. Older dogs enjoy sleeping more and playing less.

The best way to make sure you are ordering the correct size bed is by measuring your dog in his favorite laying position and adding five inches. If he’s relaxed to his maximum size you’ll need to make sure the bed is big enough to support his entire body.

A canine that sleeps in a tight curled up position might prefer a round bed with sides. Next on the list of requirements is probably a chew proof bed, especially for puppies!

There are a number of styles of dog bed, such as indoor or outdoor, heated or not, travel or car beds and as previously mentioned orthopedic beds for the older hound.

Your canine will enjoy a high quality dog bed for all the same reasons that we enjoy our beds! Think of the bed as an investment, multiple high quality beds will last the lifetime of your best friend, and so will their benefits!

I have a fisrt class honours degree. Thank god. Anything less than that seems useless. A degree isn’t what it used to be.

Thought you were joking for a minute lol
Don’t need a degree for selling beds just let the customer bounce up and down on them a few times-that should sell it lol

Could you lie down and take a blanket course to cover the whole curriculum?

Absurd. How many ‘bed salesmen’ are there, even country-wide? How many will take the degree and be unemployed?

A simple waiver would do instead. The problem is when people like me have existing back conditions, coupled with the fact that I dont seek medical advice for my back, shop for a new bed. If I go to purchase a mattress and some sales vulture sells me a bed that he "guarantees" it will make my back feel better, but my new found chiropractor tells me that my new expensive bed has caused further back problems and will continue to do so. Now What? Spend a lot more money on a new bed, or find some Lawyer jerk to take the injury case for free. I dont believe in regulation to this extent, but a simple waiver to tell the consumer that the bed salesperson is not an expert on medical conditions and before purchasing a new bed, one should consult a doctor. Even though this should all be more than self-explanatory to the consumer.

Well it certainly doesn’t fit into the "liberal arts" concept. It’s more of a trade school, wouldn’t you say?
I sure hope the skills learned would help in selling other merchandise besides beds. What if somebody wants to switch to a different kind of furniture, can he do it?

Degrees only show that your parents had enough money to send you to university.

    Look at Bush.

His daddy got him into and through Yale and Harvard.

He has a "degree" in Business, but his policies have led America into 2 recessions and the worst is yet to come.

o dear, it does worry me, I wonder whether my employers will actually see what I have a degree in instead of the fact I simply have a degree (ok I don’t yet, I will in 3yrs time)!

The whole lot is just a load of old rubbish, recycled at that! Another government way of trying to make people feel equal – well sorry but unless you have done the courses and they must be genuinely equated to university standards these so called degrees are just another placebo or a sop. We have a young family friend who spent three years doing hollistic healing and massage at university, has debts of over eleven thousand pounds and who can only get a job in a salon paying the national minimum wage. She bleats ‘ i’ve got a degree’! What a load of tosh! Girls her age twenty years ago went to the local polytechnic for two/three years, got a qualification in the same sort of thing and after five years were running their own businesses with thousands in the bank and no debt!
